Al,
I just wanted to thank you one more time for the wonderful
presentation this morning. All afternoon teachers were still
talking about the training and thanking me for inviting you.
Your presentation, according to many, was the best they have
attended at Bay Path. Many were disappointed there wasn't
more time. Dr. Raphael, Curriculum Corordinator, already
checked next year's calendar and came up with 2 possible
dates in the beginning of the year to invite you back! With
much appreciation, Deb
Dickinson GSA Advisor, Bay Path Voc Tech HS
"Al
Toney's presentations are intelligent, honest and powerful.
He recently spoke to my Race and Culture graduate level
class on
the issue of multiple identities and received accolades.
His message is very clear and is delivered in a safe
and inclusive style. My students said his workshop was
'life changing'!." Christine
Steinwand, Adjunct Professor, Wheelock College
"Al
Toney has demonstrated and continues to demonstrate strong
leadership and commitment to diversity training, coalition
building and community activism. Articulate and motivating,
Al moves his audiences in thoughtful and productive ways.
He is diplomatic and persuasive when challenging
others to question existing norms." Mark
Bilotta, Executive Assistant to the President, Assumption College
I
attended the GLBT training held at the Lynn area office of
DSS on April
16, 2004. After the training I had
a thought, What a great service it would be to offer this training
to parents (intact families) of children / adolescents that
are dealing with GLBT issues, not just social workers or foster
parents. Many of the adolecents that we work with are struggling to
have relationships with their parents, perhaps this training
would give the parents insight in how their children are feeling,
as well as, provide them with resources available to them.
Thank
you, Kristina-Britt Carlson, Social Worker
"Thanks
for your training today. I think that you did a great job
meeting the participants at where they are at given their
newness to
this topic and their need for an introductory training in this
area. I also think that you did a great job addressing
both middle and high school issues. I know that it was
a small step for us, but we look forward to continuing
to
learn and moving forward creating a safe environment for
all students. We will look to you for guidance as we plan
further activities and involve our students
in the process."
